Hand of God, A Jewel For Football & Diego Maradona Fans in Barcelona

Read Time:2 Minute, 11 Second
In 2018, we had a pre-planned interview with Diego Maradona that he declined after a significant match loss, and we were left disappointed. We had made the trip to Al Fujairah from Singapore specifically for the interview and were saddened that it didn’t happen. Diego Maradona was known for his passionate personality, and it wasn’t entirely surprising that he let his emotions get the best of him.

Despite the missed opportunity, we still have a deep admiration for Maradona and find emotional satisfaction when visiting cafes, restaurants, and football retail shops paying tribute to him.

Recently, we discovered a unique football shop called Hand of God in Barcelona, Spain, which brought the passion for Maradona to life.

Hand of God is located within an old estate in Barcelona, and its signage and graffiti on the doors and walls make it easy to spot. The shop’s vintage television at the front is still in working condition and plays football highlights from yesteryear. It sets the mood before entering the shop and prepares visitors to go back in time.

Upon entering the shop, we were greeted with specially designed T-shirts, primarily Hand of God merchandise, along with T-shirts featuring Diego Maradona hung on the walls. The shop also has jerseys that Maradona wore for Napoli, Barcelona, and the Argentina National Team. The collection of Maradona’s merchandise is vast, including mugs, photos, postcards, keychains, figurines, magazines, books, stickers, and rare collections.

The Hand of God is an ethical and sustainable fashion brand with a football theme designed and hand-printed in Barcelona. It is run by Sebastian and Gemma, a passionate couple with a love for football poetry and Maradona. We had the pleasure of talking with them, and they gave us a better understanding of the brand.

Although Hand of God is not a large shop, it has become a place where football lovers can gather for a chat, a true jewel. For Diego Maradona fans, it is the perfect place in Barcelona to share stories, to share Diego Maradon’s stories. Our conversation with Sebastian and Gemma was brief, but meeting passionate football fans like them was a pleasure.

We hope to collaborate with the Hand of God in the future to bring the passion for football and the Hand of God to the world. Until we meet again, Sebastian and Gemma, God bless you.
