Football favor spiced up Chijmes courtyard this afternoon. Great football legends, former Liverpool & Swiss International, Stéphane Henchoz, Manchester Utd & England International, Paul Parker and Singapore’s favorite footballing son, Fandi Ahmad turned up at the EPL Masters Football Singapore Cup 2012 Press Conference to announce their respective team members!
Each legend had their own fair share of time with the microphone. Stéphane Henchoz was the first on the mic to talk about his brief 4-5days of stay here in Singapore 10 years ago when Liverpool beat Singapore Selection 2-0 during their Asia tour. Paul Parker on the extreme end of the table, kept singing praises about the All Stars team for this upcoming competition as one of the best All Stars teams he ever seen in the EPL Masters competition. Lastly, Fandi’s memory was brought back to the eighties when he was reminded about he turning down a 3-years contract offered by Ajax Amsterdam. Fandi had also declared himself as Singapore’s most luckiest person as his mandatory military service was cut short to one and a half year – he was deemed unfit due to his early several football-related operations – he went on to play in Europe after he was released early from the military service!
The press conference went on and ended with a mini power kicking session, followed by a feast prepared by Bobby, and lastly, the fans’ meet & greet session at the Chijmes courtyard.
