SINGACUP 2012 Winners Are Born

Read Time:2 Minute, 29 Second

SINGACUP 2012 ended with a big bang on Friday! Extreme weather was attempting to spoilt all fun but the enthusiasm from the players were not damped! Games continued as per scheduled and all final games were played in front of big crowd.

Talk about the game of the day? It had to be Boys U-12 final between the Indonesia rivals, Javan Hawks Academy and Imran Soccer Academy. Aggression on the pitch was not enough, supporters from the two teams created some commotion which really spiced up the entire game! Eventually, Javan Hawks Academy stayed compose and achieved a hard-fought victory by beating their fellow Indonesian team 4-2!

In the next final, Boys U-14, SSB Bontang vs Javan Hawks Academy. Bongtang’s striker number-11, had proven himself as one of the most lethal and best players in this competition. Early goal from Bontang was scored from a rebound shot on sight by Bontang number-15. Javan Hawks Academy’s defenders communicated and lead the defence well. Triangle passing could be one of the reasons contributed to Bontang’s victory as it was clearly shown that Javan Hawks Academy was struggling to keep with their quick and tight-angle passing. For the 3rd/4th placing game, Thailand’s Ascot Football Academy beat Football West Australia 2-1 to clinch the bronze.

The final Boys U-18 final, German European Soccer School beat Youth Football Home Phuket 4-1. The game was played in a heavy rain in the first half which made the game challenging for both teams. For the German team, this could be one of their sweetest victories especially having missed the title narrowly last year. Despite Youth Football Home Phuket fielding their strongest team, the Thai players seems to be running out of steam, probably due to fatigue, did not perform up to expectation. The Germans noticed the off-day which their opponent had and punished them by their quick counter strategy to score all 4 goals!

Last but not least, Football West Australia girls took home the the Girls U-18 trophy after beating JSSL Arsenal Soccer School 4-1! Australia’s number-7, Siobhan Longmore,  not only scored a hattrick to help her team clinched the title, she also impressed the panels and was awarded with the Girls U-18 Most Valuable Player Award! To add on to her accolade, she also took home the Girls U-18 category Top Scorer Award too.

In every football game, there will be a winner and loser. If you are a winner, congratulation to you and certainly you deserve that accolade with the hardwork and determination. However, if you are not the winner, we believe your experience gained in this one of the best youth competitions in this region could enhance your play. Good luck and we will see you again next year!
