Iran, Japan & United Arab Emirates will represent Asia in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Tahiti this coming September!
Although having booked their place in the World Cup after defeating a determined Australia 2-1 in the semi-final, Japan looked to crash with the other semi-finalist, Iran in the Asian Beach Soccer Championship where Japan hoped to retain the Asian title. Unfortunately, Iran had a different script. The Iranians recovered from 3 goals deficit to draw 6-6 with the Japanese after the extra time. Eventually, Iran defeated Japan on penalty and crowned Champion of Asian Beach Soccer in Doha.
Joining the Asian teams in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Tahiti 2013 are European’s Spain, Russia, Ukraine and Netherlands. More qualifiers will be taking place at various continents in this year and more exciting news coming up this September 2013!
